"Man, I looked good!"

I was never happy with the way I looked. There was always something that bothered me: the shape of my legs, my flabby arms or the size of my belly. I never thought I was pretty when I looked in the mirror and I was 5 months away from being married. I hated the way I looked in my wedding dress. People kept telling me that once I had my hair and makeup done, I would feel better but I didn't think so. I had been doing an aerobic and strength class 3x a week and I wasn't losing any inches. I decided that something had to happen or else I was going to be a miserable bride.

I found Diane on the internet and working out with her was one of the best decisions I had made in a long time! She taught to track my food and it amazed me to see how some items we think are good for us are really high in fat and calories. As much as a pain keeping a food log was, it was an eye opener. When people say that you need portion control, they are not kidding!

Also she also kickstarted an interest in running which I never thought would happen. Gradually I was running more and faster on the treadmill and I enjoyed it. I even got my future husband to buy running shoes with me so we could run together. With the weight training, cardio and food log, I lost weight.I started to feel better about myself and how I looked. I noticed I wasn't dodging mirrors as much and I was shopping for smaller sizes.

My wedding was in April and I have to say that I put on my wedding dress a few weeks before (without my hair and makeup done) and I liked what I saw. I felt good on my wedding day and it wasn't because I was all dolled up but because I did something to feel better about myself. There will always be room for improvement but at least now when I look at my wedding photos I can say, "Man, I looked good!"
